Dan Becker, MD

Daniel F. Becker, MD serves as Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and he holds the UCSF Distinguished Professorship for Adolescent and Young Adult Health. He received his bachelor’s degree in Humanities from Stanford University and his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin, then completed residency training at Yale University. Dr. Becker’s research interests are primarily in the areas of adolescent and young adult psychopathology, and include substance use disorders, eating disorders, personality disorders, the psychiatric sequelae of trauma exposure, gender and ethnic differences in the expression of psychopathology, and the adaptation of adolescents to parenthood.
