Biography

Dr. Krystal is a pioneer in the application of computational modeling to the study of biomarker development using EEG in patients with depression and sleep disorders and application of biomarkers in treatment development clinical trials.

Dr. Krystal is the Ray and Dagmar Dolby Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Neurology, Vice-Chair for Research in the Department of Psychiatry, Director of the Dolby Family Center for Mood Disorders, Director of the UCSF Interventional Psychiatry Program and Director of the Clinical and Translational Sleep Research Laboratory. His work focuses on the development of biomarkers for mood and sleep disorders and their application in developing novel, personalized treatments for these conditions.
