A new UCSF center at Mission Bay, scheduled to open in the spring of 2019, will offer a unique and powerful array of mental health services to Bay Area adults, children and families, as well as provide a base for research and training to advance the prevention and treatment of mental illness.

First-year psychiatry resident Brian Anderson, MD, has been selected as the recipient of the 2014-15 PGY-1 Krevans Award for Patient Care by his peers and faculty members at San Francisco General Hospital (SFGH) for his outstanding clinical skills and dedication to serving vulnerable and underserved patients.

Renée Binder, MD, began her one-year term as President of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) at the conclusion of the APA Annual Meeting in Toronto on May 20.

Second-year psychiatry resident David Tran, MD, MPP, has been selected to receive a 2015-2016 Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Minority Fellowship from the American Psychiatric Association (APA).

Second-year psychiatry resident Tua-Elisabeth Mulligan, MD, has been chosen to participate in the American Psychiatric Association (APA) American Psychiatric Leadership (APL) Fellowship Program, the oldest fellowship program offered by the APA.

The 168th Annual Meeting of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) will be held Saturday, May 16 - Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in Toronto, Canada, and numerous current and former UCSF Psychiatry faculty members and trainees will be in attendance.
