The 172nd Annual Meeting of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) will be held Saturday, May 18–Wednesday, May 22, 2018 at the George R. Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.

In research published April 30, 2019 in Neuron, scientists led by Vikaas Sohal, MD, PhD found that mice were less likely to decide to venture into an exposed part of an elevated maze — something mice typically find quite scary — when cells in the prefrontal cortex called “VIP interneurons” were activated.
